Job summary

Language Trainers is seeking a freelance Tamil teacher for in-person, one-to-one General Tamil classes in the Ajax area. The student needs a native Tamil speaker or a person with a teaching degree to conduct a 40-hour course, with sessions three times per week of two hours each.

Classes may be held at the teacher’s office in Ajax, Whitby, Pickering, or Scarborough area, with flexible scheduling based on availability.

Qualifications

• Native Tamil speaker OR teaching degree.
• Experience as language teacher, translator or interpreter.
• Valid working visa.
• Live within 20 miles of the client’s location.

Responsibilities

• Teach a 40-hour Tamil course with one-to-one sessions.
• Deliver classes at teacher’s office in Ajax, Whitby, Pickering, or Scarborough area.
• Schedule three 2-hour sessions per week, Mon-Fri, 1pm–4pm.
• Negotiate hourly rate; freelance part-time position; visa sponsorship not available.

Language Trainers is a successful language training company working with freelance teachers of 70 different languages in hundreds of towns and cities across the world.Students are either in-company or self-funded who need to learn a language at their office or their home for work, family or travel reasons. We might have a job for you as a Tamil teacher. Some details about the course:

• One of our clients in Oshawa would like to have one-to-one GENERAL Tamil classes.
• This student wishes to have classes at the teacher's office in Ajax, Whitby, Pickering, or Scarbrough area.
• She would like to have a 40-hour course.
• Classes of two hours should be held three times per week, the client is available from Monday to Friday between 1pm and 4pm and she wishes to start asap.
• The client's current level of Tamil is beginner.
• Motivation: My husband is Tamil speaking. I want to learn to speak with his family when we visit and teach our children so they can communicate with their family without him speaking for us. Ideal teacher should:
• Be a native Thamilspeaker OR hold a teaching degree
• Have experience as a language teacher, translator or interpreter
• Have a valid working visa
• Live up to 20 miles from the client'slocation.

Location of the classes and schedule could be flexible based on your and the client’s availability. The hourly rate is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. This is a freelance part-time position, and we are not able to sponsor your visa.
