Job summary

Alpine Building Maintenance Inc. is seeking candidates for a Light Duty Cleaner role to support client sites in the Greater Toronto Area. You’ll perform a range of cleaning and sanitation tasks to keep spaces welcoming and safe for guests and employees.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, reliability, and physical stamina to handle routine cleaning duties across various shifts and locations. Training is provided to maintain high standards and compliance with site requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in luxury hospitality, retail, or janitorial services is preferred.
• Ability to obtain all applicable security clearances.
• WHMIS knowledge is not required but considered an asset.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts.

Responsibilities

• Collect and remove used dishware, trays, and reusable service items from guest seating areas.
• Segregate waste materials at designated stations with proper disposal.
• Perform continuous spot checks and removal of debris from all public floor areas.
• Clean and sanitize seating surfaces, counters, and fixtures for readiness.
• Disinfect high-touch and high-traffic areas to maintain safety.
• Perform comprehensive floor care including sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.
• Maintain building common areas, such as hallways, lobbies, bathrooms, elevators, stairs.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables regularly.
• Complete cleaning and deodorizing of facilities, focusing on washrooms and client spaces.
• Maintain client-specific spaces and complete other duties as directed.

What You Will Be Doing

• Collect and remove used dishware, trays, and reusable service items from guest seating areas.
• Segregate waste materials at designated stations, separating recoverable items and organic matter from soiled service vessels and ensuring correct disposal arrangements.
• Perform continuous spot checks and removal of debris or litter from all floor surfaces within the public spaces and circulation zones.
• Clean, sanitize, and wipe down all guest seating surfaces, counters, and supporting fixtures and furniture to ensure readiness for the next user.
• Clean, disinfect, and sanitize high-touch and high-traffic areas to maintain a safe environment.
• Perform comprehensive floor care, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and spot cleaning.
• Clean and maintain all building common areas, including hallways, lobbies, bathrooms, elevators, escalators, and stairs
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables from waste bins on a regular basis.
• Complete cleaning, sanitizing, and deodorizing of all facilities, with a focus on washrooms and designated client spaces.
• Maintain and service client-specific spaces and complete other duties as directed.

What You Will Bring

• Previous experience in luxury hospitality, retail, customer service, or janitorial services is considered an asset.
• The eligibility and ability to obtain all applicable security clearance(s).
• Knowledge of WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) is not required but considered an asset
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts is considered an asset
