Job summary

Position Scope

The Talent Management Advisor is a strategic Human Resources professional responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving enterprise-wide talent management programs that support organizational objectives and workforce sustainability. Acting as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organization, this role partners with business units to build leadership capability, strengthen succession pipelines, enhance employee performance, and cultivate a culture of continuous learning and high performance.

The successful candidate brings expertise in talent strategy, organizational development, workforce planning, employee engagement, and leadership development. This individual demonstrates exceptional relationship management skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to influence leaders while balancing operational priorities with long-term organizational goals.

Responsibilities
Talent Management Strategy
  • Partner with business leaders and Human Resources colleagues to develop and execute integrated talent management strategies that align with organizational priorities, workforce planning objectives, and future business needs.
  • Lead the design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of talent management programs, ensuring they reflect industry best practices, support organizational growth, and enhance the employee experience.
  • Facilitate enterprise-wide talent review and succession planning processes by identifying critical roles, assessing organizational talent, evaluating leadership readiness, and supporting the development of succession strategies for key positions.
Performance Management
  • Provide strategic consultation and coaching to leaders on performance management practices, including goal setting, performance planning, continuous feedback, coaching conversations, development planning, and performance improvement strategies.
  • Develop and deliver tools, resources, and training that strengthen leaders' capabilities in managing employee performance and fostering accountability.
Leadership Development and Learning
  • Design, coordinate, and evaluate leadership development initiatives that build critical leadership competencies, strengthen succession pipelines, and support organizational transformation.
  • Facilitate leadership development sessions, talent workshops, and organizational learning initiatives using adult learning principles and evidence-based practices.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning by encouraging career development, knowledge sharing, mentoring, coaching, and professional growth opportunities across the organization.
Employee Engagement and Organizational Development
  • Partner with leaders to interpret employee engagement survey results and develop meaningful action plans that improve employee satisfaction, retention, inclusion, and organizational culture.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that strengthen employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, career development, recognition, and internal mobility.
  • Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging by embedding inclusive talent management practices into recruitment, development, succession planning, and leadership programs.
Strategic HR Partnership
  • Collaborate within Human Resources, including Recruitment, Total Rewards, Employee Relations to deliver integrated people solutions that support business objectives.
  • Develop comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate workforce trends, talent metrics, and program outcomes to senior leadership.
Qualifications
What Makes You the ONE
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related discipline (Certificate or Diploma).
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation is preferred; candidates actively pursuing the designation may also be considered.
  • Certified Talent Management Professional (CTMP) designation would be an asset.
  • Minimum five years of progressive Human Resources experience, including direct experience in talent management, organizational development, leadership development, workforce planning, or related strategic Human Resources functions. Experience working in a mining or construction environment would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise-wide talent management programs and initiatives within a medium to large, complex organization.
  • Experience facilitating leadership development programs, talent review discussions, succession planning, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, organizational development methodologies, performance management frameworks, and employee engagement practices.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and the ability to translate organizational priorities into practical talent management solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex workforce data and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Proven project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiaves simultaneously while meeting competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging within the workplace.
