Job summary

North American Construction Group (NACG) seeks Skilled Ground Workers to join our remote mining site team near Fort McMurray. The role offers a combined rate of up to $36.74/hour, with room for growth and weekly pay.

Site duties include shovelling, snow removal, and strict adherence to safety policies. Candidates must have mine experience, be physically fit, and fluent in English. Camp accommodations are not provided, with bussing from Fort McMurray to site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year driving in a mine.
• Ability to drive and back up light towers and heaters.
• Be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to work night shifts in cold winter conditions.
• Some equipment experience required.
• Able to communicate on a two-way radio.
• Fluent in English, both verbally and written.
• High school diploma or GED is considered an asset.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Position Scope

NACG is seeking Skilled Ground Workers to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region.

For this role, NACG offers a combined rate of up to $36.74/hour as well as room for growth!

Where You’ll Be Working

• Site: Syncrude Aurora
• Schedule: 14 x 7 OR 10x4 , hour days (paid for 12 hours). Days only.
• Accommodations: Camp accommodation is not provided.
• Transportation: Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts)
• Overtime: Provided after 8 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week.

What’s Next

If you are chosen to move forward in our hiring process for a site-based role, you will be asked to provide the following:

• Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to provide a recent Driver’s Abstract
• Valid CSO, OHS, Silica Awareness, Field Ergonomics, Wood Buffalo Wildelife Awareness, Hydrogen Sulfide Awareness Certifications.
• Be subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
• Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing:
  • Breath Alcohol Test
  • Urine Drug Test
  • Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment
  • Audiometric Testing
  • Vision Screening
  • Criminal Record Check
• Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre-employment testing
• An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out
• After all results and paperwork are received by NACG, candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site-specific details.
