Job summary

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited in Calgary is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead proactive sourcing, screening and recruitment across the organization. This role is located at our Calgary, Alberta office and will drive end-to-end talent acquisition from sourcing to placement.

You will partner with HR Business Partners, develop resourcing strategies, and build candidate pools for high-volume roles while ensuring compliance with Canadian labour laws and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in HR, Business, or related discipline.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in full cycle recruitment.
  • Recruitment experience within aerospace, manufacturing, transportation, logistics or related industry is considered an asset.
  • CHRP designation is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Provincial and Canadian Labour and Employment Laws, preferably in multi-provincial jurisdictions.
  • Expertise in the use of social media for recruitment campaigns.
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce ATS is considered a significant asset.

  • Develop KPI’s and related reporting metrics for tracking progress against manpower/resourcing plans.
  • Facilitate pre-employment background, criminal and other pre-employment screening, and testing as required for the role.
  • Work with HR Partners on internal transfers and promotions to fill vacancies.
  • Assist in development and utilization of social media recruitment campaigns.

Position Summary

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will play a critical role in building the workforce that powers DHC’s next phase of growth. Working within the Talent Acquisition (‘TA’) Team, the TA Specialist will provide proactive sourcing, selection and recruitment services across the organization. The successful candidate must have proven expertise in the implementation of recruitment and selection processes in order to attract and source a diverse and high performing workforce. The TA Specialist’s ability to proactively source, engage and build relationships with talent in highly competitive markets will set the successful candidate apart from their industry peers.

This position would be located at our Calgary, Alberta office.

Key Responsibilities
  • In coordination with the Manager, HR Operations, Vice President, HR and key executives, evaluate recruitment needs and develop resourcing strategies based on operational requirements.
  • Provide full cycle recruitment support, including the sourcing, screening, interviewing, and shortlisting of candidates for hiring manager consideration.
  • Develop candidate pools for re-occurring and high-volume hiring needs, implementing strategies to maintain interested candidates in the talent pipeline.
  • In coordination with the Manager, HR Operations, develop KPI’s and related reporting metrics for the tracking and evaluation of progress against manpower / resourcing plans; identifying hiring trends and issues specific to hard to fill positions / disciplines.
  • Facilitate pre-employment background, criminal and other pre-employment screening, and testing, as required for the role.
  • Work closely with the HR Business Partners on internal transfers and promotions to fill existing vacancies.
  • In alignment with the Manager, HR Operations support the development and utilization of social media recruitment campaigns (e.g. Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter).
Qualifications & Skills
  • Undergraduate degree in HR, Business, or related discipline.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in full cycle recruitment.
  • Recruitment experience within the aerospace, manufacturing, transportation, logistics or related industry is considered an asset.

  • Strong commitment to business process improvement, with a focus on efficient delivery of services.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize work and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to 'think outside the box' with a proven track record of creative problem-solving and consensus building skills necessary to address operational resourcing challenges.
