ACCIONA is working on constructing some of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects on the planet—and we’re growing fast, pursuing new and exciting opportunities across North America.
We are seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our team. This is an on-site role, offering the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team with proven expertise in delivering large-scale construction projects.
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will play a key role in identifying top talent for our projects and offices across Canada. This role is instrumental in helping us build strong, diverse talent pipelines that will support our continued growth and success in both technical and corporate support functions. The role also involves coordinating pre-employment processes, onboarding activities, and may include collaboration on broader HR initiatives.
This is a 12 month contract position with the potential to lead to a permanent opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Lead high-volume, full-cycle recruitment across Canada for a broad range of roles in specialized technical areas (e.g., engineering, construction management) and corporate support functions.
- Proactively build and maintain talent pipelines for key positions and future project needs by developing and executing sourcing strategies tailored to regional markets and specialized talent segments.
- Leverage tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, industry associations, and networking platforms to identify, engage, and attract high-calibre candidates.
- Use Workday to manage job requisitions, track applicants, generate reports, and ensure data accuracy throughout the recruitment process.
- Partner with hiring managers across Canada to understand business needs, define role requirements, and deliver consistent, high-quality recruitment support.
- Conduct screening calls, lead interviews, and coordinate selection processes, ensuring alignment with both role criteria and ACCIONA’s values.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment administration, including interview coordination, reference checks, background verification, and offer preparation.
- Collaborate with colleges, universities, and industry groups to support early talent pipelines and participate in broader HR initiatives that foster long-term strategic partnerships.
- Represent ACCIONA at career fairs, industry events, and employer branding initiatives to elevate our visibility and position as an employer of choice.
- Support onboarding efforts to ensure smooth transitions for new hires and alignment with company policies, culture, and expectations.
- Provide support in other areas of HR, including training coordination, compliance activities, and employee engagement.
- Champion an exceptional candidate experience at every stage of the recruitment journey and help reinforce ACCIONA’s employer brand across Canada.
- Other duties as required.
Experience/Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in full-cycle recruiting, ideally in the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sector.
- Experience recruiting both technical and support roles.
- Experience recruiting candidates across various levels, from entry-level to senior leadership roles.
- Experience with a variety of interview methods and techniques, including structured, behavioral, and competency-based interviews.
- Familiarity with Workday or another HRIS/recruitment system is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience coordinating onboarding, reference checking, and pre-employment documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple roles and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining accurate and thorough recruitment records and documentation.
- Familiarity with employment laws and regulations related to recruitment, hiring practices, and candidate data privacy.
- Previous exposure to other areas of HR is an asset.
