POSITION SUMMARY:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a key role in advancing NFI's Talent Acquisition and Workforce Development strategies across our group of companies. This position is responsible for delivering full-cycle recruitment while partnering with local HR teams and hiring leaders to build proactive talent pipelines, support workforce planning initiatives, and address complex or hard-to-fill hiring needs. As a member of the Talent Acquisition and Workforce Development team, the Talent Acquisition Specialist helps implement enterprise-wide strategies, programs, and processes that enhance talent attraction, candidate experience, employer branding, workforce development, and recruitment effectiveness across the organization.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Proven experience managing full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, candidate assessment, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships with hiring managers and HR teams to develop and execute recruitment strategies aligned with business needs.
  • Experience developing talent pipelines through innovative sourcing techniques, networking, community partnerships, workforce development programs, and employer branding initiatives.
  • Success recruiting for specialized, high-volume, hard-to-fill, or business-critical positions across diverse functions.
  • Strong ability to assess candidate qualifications, organizational fit, and potential, while providing consultative recommendations to hiring leaders.
  • Experience using recruitment metrics and data to evaluate hiring effectiveness, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of recruitment best practices, compliance requirements, candidate experience principles, and talent acquisition technologies.
  • Comfortable acting as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert, providing guidance on recruitment processes and workforce planning.
  • Experience representing an organization at career fairs, industry events, educational institutions, and community engagement activities.
  • Knowledge of immigration processes and documentation requirements for international hiring is considered an asset.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience participating in cross-functional projects or workforce development initiatives that support long-term talent strategies
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Post Secondary education in Bus Admin, HR or related discipline including relative experience
  • 2-3 years of experience delivering full-cycle recruitment across multiple functions and levels
  • Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholder management abilities
  • Customer-service mindset with a commitment to delivering a positive candidate and hiring manager experience
  • Experience sourcing talent through a variety of channels, including social media, networking, community organizations, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Experience participating in and/or leading cross-functional projects, continuous improvement initiatives, or talent acquisition programs
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and computer skills, including experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment technologies.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and multitasking skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, recruitment best practices, and inclusive hiring principles
Physical & Workplace Requirements:
  • NFI Group maintains a drug-free workplace in accordance with applicable laws and contractual requirements.

  • Up to 5% travel; must be eligible to travel within Canada or the United States
