  • Attention to detail in employment and immigration documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment: postings, sourcing, screening, interviews, checks, offers and pre-employment activities.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and create sourcing strategies.
  • Proactively source candidates and build pipelines for hard-to-fill roles.
  • Coordinate selection, approvals, and documentation for offers.
  • Maintain recruitment data in the ATS and prepare reports and analytics.
  • Support career fairs, campaigns, employer branding, and TA initiatives.
  • Coordinate immigration/work authorization: LMIA, PNPs, permits, documents, renewals.
  • Liaise with candidates, employees, HR partners, and external counsel/consultants.
  • Monitor changes to immigration programs and assess impact on recruitment.

Primary Objective of the Position:

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for supporting full-cycle recruitment to attract, assess, and hire qualified talent across the organization. The position partners with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to understand workforce needs, develop effective sourcing strategies, build talent pipelines, and deliver a positive candidate experience.

In addition to Talent Acquisition, the position supports the organization’s immigration and work authorization processes, including coordinating employer-supported documentation, supporting applicable federal and Provincial Nominee Programs, monitoring work authorization requirements and expiry dates, and working with employees, candidates, internal stakeholders, and external immigration professionals.

Job Duties:

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviews, assessments, background/reference checks, offer coordination, and pre-employment activities.
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to understand workforce requirements and develop effective recruitment and sourcing strategies.
  • Proactively source candidates and build talent pipelines for specialized, high-volume, and difficult-to-fill positions.
  • Coordinate candidate selection and offer processes and ensure required approvals and documentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate recruitment information in the Applicant Tracking System and prepare recruitment reports and analytics, including time-to-fill, sourcing effectiveness, hiring trends, and other key metrics.
  • Support career fairs, recruitment campaigns, employer branding, and other Talent Acquisition initiatives.
  • Coordinate employer-supported immigration and work authorization processes for eligible candidates and employees, including new applications, extensions, and renewals.
  • Support applicable Canadian immigration pathways, including employer-supported work permits, Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) processes, Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), and other applicable federal or provincial programs.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate employer documentation and supporting information required for immigration and work authorization applications.
  • Liaise with candidates, employees, HR Business Partners, management, government agencies, and external immigration counsel/consultants to facilitate immigration-related processes.
  • Monitor changes to immigration programs, including Provincial Nominee Programs, and identify potential impacts on recruitment, workforce planning, and existing employees.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure recruitment and immigration-related records are handled in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition, recruitment, or a related HR function.
  • Experience supporting Canadian immigration, work permit, or employer-sponsored immigration processes is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting Provincial Nominee Programs across multiple Canadian provinces and coordinating documentation for employer-sponsored immigration applications is considered an asset.
  • Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) designation is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruitment practices, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and selection methodologies.
  • Experience working with an ATS and/or HRIS; UKG Pro experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple vacancies, candidates, immigration cases, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing employment and immigration-related documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with candidates, employees, hiring managers, senior leaders, and external service providers.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience preparing recruitment reports, metrics, and workforce-related analysis.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
