About The Talent Acquisition Advisor Role

The Talent Acquisition Advisor is accountable for the strategic execution of both full-cycle recruitment and contract administration activities at Humber, promoting our brand – compelling, strong, and attractive. This position will focus on supporting hiring managers and delegates with academic, administrative, and support staff positions while creating a positive experience for both internal and external candidates.

The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for managing full-cycle recruitment and will be an individual contributor for the administration of approximately 500 contracts per semester for both internal employees and external candidates at Humber. This includes working with hiring managers and employees/candidates to ensure that offers of employment and contracts are accurate, signed and adhere to specific criteria/timelines. The successful candidate for this role will be the point person for full-cycle recruitment and contract administration activities within a portfolio of faculties/departments across the Humber community and will engage as appropriate to support hiring managers and delegates.

This Role Will Also Include

  • Creating and facilitating training on the Talent Acquisition process.
  • Creating content for user guides or resources on Talent Acquisition activities.
  • Resolving system and process related questions raised by hiring managers and candidates.
  • Ensuring legal compliance and compliance with various collective agreements.
  • Supporting recruitment activities (job postings, candidate screening, and shortlisting candidates).
  • Working closely with members of the Talent Acquisition team to help ensure all candidates and employees move effectively through the hiring process.
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects within the Talent Acquisition team.

About You

Education

  • You have an earned Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent.
  • (Equivalency: College Diploma + 4 years relevant experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree + HR Post-Graduate).

Experience/Skills

  • You have at least 1-3 years’ experience in contract administration activities, talent acquisition, or recruitment and selection.
  • Specific experience with Oracle HCM modules (Taleo and/or Oracle Recruiting Cloud) would be considered an asset.
  • You have experience managing peak periods of recruitment activities (e.g., high volume semester-based contract hiring).
  • You are dynamic and forward thinking with demonstrated working knowledge of employment legislation, collective agreements, and key HR functions.
  • You are not afraid to ask questions that challenge the status quo, contributing to continuous and sustainable improvements within the team or broader People(s) and Culture department.
  • Communication is your go to – you keep your peers in the know, effectively sharing information whether in writing or verbally.
  • You like to find solutions to problems even when managing competing priorities.
  • Your ability to deal with ambiguity is high and you adapt to change well.
  • You are efficient and detail oriented with a high degree of discipline when working with a sense of urgency.
