Responsibilities for {Skill} Security Guard

As a CBSA guard, you will be responsible for monitoring people who have arrived at the airport experiencing immigration complications and who cannot officially enter the country.

In this role, you will:

• Ensure the protection of people, assets, and property
• Escort people within the facility, using restraints to ensure safety
• Demonstrate empathy and compassion, recognizing that you are working with individuals under stress
• Observe, monitor, and report on detainee behavior
• Conduct regular foot patrols in both indoor and outdoor facilities
• Monitor and properly utilize security software and equipment
• Generate daily incident reports
• Utilize tactical training to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations

This work requires vigilance, efficiency, and a talent for customer service and compassion, as you will be working with people in vulnerable situations.

Qualifications for {Skill} Security Guard

• A valid and current First Aid/CPR certificate from a WSIB-recognized training provider
• Canadian citizenship or 5 years of permanent residence status
• Minimum high school diploma from a recognized education provider
• Ability to pass a Public Works Clearance and a Vulnerable Sector Check
• Availability to work flexible hours, in full-time or part-time roles
• At least 1 year of experience working in a vulnerable sector
• At least 1 year of tactical security guard experience
• Ability to demonstrate leadership capabilities
• Experience working in high-stress environments with quick responsiveness to emergencies
• Understanding of the importance of security, safety, and conciseness
