Position Summary
The Tabulator Clerk (TC) feeds ballots into the vote tabulator and prints the results tape using the software provided by the Town Clerk.
Major Job Responsibilities
  • Assists with opening and closing the voting location

  • Follow troubleshooting steps to assist in resolving issues with the vote tabulator.

  • Notify the Deputy Returning Officer (DRO) of any disruption at the voting location in a timely manner.

  • Assist electors with disabilities, if requested.

  • Generate the tabulation results on Election Night.

  • Ability to read and key data on a touch screen using specific software programs.

  • Manage a large flow of electors within a voting location.

  • Complete tasks manually if required.

  • Ensure scrutineers are following guidelines set forth within the voting location.

  • Direct any elector issues to the Deputy Returning Officer as they arise.

  • Assists with other various election-related duties, as requested by the Deputy Returning Officer (DRO)

Education & Experience
  • Previous election experience is an asset

  • Access to vehicle to travel to the voting location.

  • Ability to understand, rationalize and resolve situations efficiently as they arise.

  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

  • Availability to work long hours

  • Ability to read and observe voting procedures at the voting location.

  • Ability to learn quickly, follow directions, and complete repetitive duties.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Be at least 18 years of age on advance poll day or election day.

Event Rate:

$300 per day
