School District 71 (Comox Valley) invites applications for the temporary 0.50 FTE Online Learning Foundations of Math 11 & Accounting 11 Teacher. The assignment involves online and on-site teaching at a Comox Valley school, using a modern LMS to deliver blended instruction and online curriculum.

You will support adult learners and adapt courses including IEPs. The successful candidate will have online teaching experience, math and accounting instruction, and a background in adult education, AFL

• Advanced skills in AFL assessment practices and documentation for students, parents, and educators.
• Experience developing online learning platforms within Brightspace/Zoom/Teams to enhance student learning.
• Ability to provide tutorial support for students online and in person.
• Ability to support course adaptations and IEPs.

• This assignment will end June 30, 2027 or upon return of the incumbent.

NIDES teachers guide successful learning by providing personalized, online learning courses using diverse instructional technology. NIDES teachers commit to working online and face-to-face with students, colleagues, and parents. Teachers actively research, develop, and maintain advanced online curriculum and support blended instruction in classrooms, learning centers, and through tutorials. They teach students province wide & work on-site at a Comox Valley School.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Training, certification and/or direct experience teaching in an online learning (OL) environment
• Experience, training and education related to the design and instruction of math and accounting within an online learning environment at the secondary school level
• Experience, training, and education in adult education
• Experience teaching math and accounting to adult learners in an adult education environment
• Advanced skills in maintaining an online classroom in a learning management system
• Advanced skills in supporting assessment for learning (AFL) assessment practices and documentation for students, parents, and educators
• Experience developing and implementing online learning platforms within the modern languages portfolio (Brightspace, Zoom, Teams) to enhance student learning
• Ability to work with and provide tutorial support for students online and in person

• Ability to support students with course adaptations and I.E.P.s
