Comox Valley Schools - School District 71 invites applications for a 0.50 FTE Temporary Online Learning Foundations of Math 11 and Accounting 11 Teacher. The assignment ends June 30, 2027 or upon return of the incumbent. The teacher will deliver online courses province-wide and may work on-site in Comox Valley.

The successful candidate will have training or experience in online learning, math and accounting instruction, adult education, and strong LMS management with Brightspace, Zoom, and Teams.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching in online learning environments, especially at the secondary level.
• Experience or training in designing and instructing math and accounting online.
• Experience teaching adult education.
• Ability to support adult learners and provide tutorial assistance online and in person.

Responsabilités

• Teach online and face-to-face with students, colleagues, and parents using diverse instructional technology.
• Maintain online classroom using a learning management system and provide AFL documentation.
• Develop and implement online learning platforms to enhance student learning in math and accounting.

We Invite Applications For The Temporary Position Of

• 0.50 FTE Online Learning Foundations of Math 11 & Accounting 11 Teacher
• This assignment will end June 30, 2027 or upon return of the incumbent.

NIDES teachers guide successful learning by providing personalized, online learning courses using diverse instructional technology. NIDES teachers commit to working online and face-to-face with students, colleagues, and parents. Teachers actively research, develop, and maintain advanced online curriculum and support blended instruction in classrooms, learning centers, and through tutorials. They teach students province wide & work on-site at a Comox Valley School.

The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate

• Training, certification and/or direct experience teaching in an online learning (OL) environment
• Experience, training and education related to the design and instruction of math and accounting within an online learning environment at the secondary school level
• Experience, training, and education in adult education
• Experience teaching math and accounting to adult learners in an adult education environment
• Advanced skills in maintaining an online classroom in a learning management system
• Advanced skills in supporting assessment for learning (AFL) assessment practices and documentation for students, parents, and educators
• Experience developing and implementing online learning platforms within the modern languages portfolio (Brightspace, Zoom, Teams) to enhance student learning
• Ability to work with and provide tutorial support for students online and in person
• Ability to support students with course adaptations and I.E.P.s
