School District 71 - Blended Learning Teacher (Temporary Position)

We invite applications for the temporary position of:

• 0.60 FTE Blended Learning Teacher: Grades 7-9 Generalist or 10-12 Math/Science or Humanities
• Located in Prime' Nanaimo, BC at Prime' Academy - must be able to provide face-to-face instruction at the location.
• Please note that this temporary position is subject to enrollment.

NIDES teachers guide successful learning by providing personalized, online learning courses using diverse instructional technology. They commit to working both online and face-to-face with students, colleagues, and parents. Teachers actively research, develop, and maintain advanced online curricula and support blended learning in classrooms, learning centers, and tutorials.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Ability to create and manage online courses, assignments, assessments, and resources incorporating current pedagogical frameworks (e.g., inquiry, place-based, personalized).
• Ability to work with and support students online and in person.
• Ability to support students with course adaptations and I.E.P.s.
• Proficiency with online tools such as Brightspace (D2L), Seesaw, Zoom, and MyEd.
• Experience with online learning technology support, course design/development in Brightspace, Google Classroom, and e-portfolios (Seesaw).
• Experience and commitment to collaborative curriculum integration and personalized learning as part of a teacher team.
• Experience with Student Learning Plans and parent co-facilitation.
