FTE: 1.00 – Temporary

The expected start date is August 25, 2025, and will complete on June 26, 2026, or upon the return of the incumbent.

Subjects

LCI is seeking a Physical Education and Sports Medicine teacher to join their team at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year! The candidate will be responsible to teach Sports Medicine 10, 20 and 30 and grade 9 Physical Education, with the possibility of additional courses being added. The successful candidate will be an eager and enthusiastic educator who:

• Has previous teaching experience in sport medicine and/or athletic therapy(preferred);
• Is a dynamic, student-focused educator;
• Puts an emphasis on physical fitness, teamwork, and promote the LCI Green 2 Gold character development;
• Is highly organized, energetic and team player;
• Has strong classroom management and communication skills;
• Teaches a range of physical activities and sports, including team and individual units;
• Has First Aid/CPR/AED certification (asset);
• Is comfortable managing multiple classes and activities throughout the day;
• Has a commitment to fostering collaborative working relationships;
• Is committed to ongoing professional development and professionalism.

• Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.

Conditions of Employment

In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School

Division who are offered employment must provide:

• A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
• A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
• Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
• Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
