Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (based on experience and qualifications per collective agreement)

Effective Date: September 1, 2025

Required Abilities, Qualifications, and Experience
  1. Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching relevant to this assignment.
  2. Knowledge of and ability to apply the Ministry of Education's philosophy, practices, and assessment procedures.
  3. Ability to implement teaching practices aligned with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
  4. Certification in BC or Inter-Provincial Trade Qualification in cooking and food preparation, or equivalent.
  5. FoodSafe Instructor certification.
  6. Strong academic background in Culinary Arts with at least two years of secondary school teaching experience.
  7. Knowledge and experience in managing a Cafeteria Food service program, including ordering, billing, and food costing.
  8. Ability to organize and facilitate large banquets outside school hours.
  9. Understanding of Industry Standards related to Hospitality Food Service.
  10. Excellent classroom and behavior management skills.
  11. Proficiency in using technology for instruction and communication with students and parents.
  12. Ability to motivate and support struggling learners.
  13. Strong work ethic, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  14. Ability to differentiate instruction and assessments to meet diverse student needs.
  15. Commitment to a vertically aligned curriculum and integration of the First Peoples Principles of Learning.
  16. Sensitivity to adolescent development and ability to build positive relationships.
  17. Engagement in ongoing professional development.
