Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement)

Effective Date: September 1, 2025

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.
  2. Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
  3. Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of effective strategies to support the development of literacy skills for all students; preference will be given to individuals possessing knowledge, training and experience in Balanced Literacy, Guided Reading, incorporating the 5 Pillars of Literacy, Reading Power and Writing Power.
  5. Training and demonstrated effective developmental numeracy program utilizing current pedagogy including number sense, number fluency, and real-world applications.
  6. Demonstrated excellent classroom management, behavioural management and organizational skills.
  7. Proven ability as an effective team member, able to effectively work collaboratively with staff, parents, and administration (Grade Group, School Based Team and Problem-Solving Team models).
  8. Demonstrated ability and willingness to use UDL, classroom, school, district and provincial level assessments to plan for differentiated instruction.
  9. Commitment to supporting school-wide initiatives, including behaviour and social emotional learning strategies and programs.
  10. Demonstrated commitment to working with colleagues in an open, accepting manner to promote a strong and caring professional learning community.
  11. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents.
  12. Demonstrated ability to address the wide range of academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs of children, particularly children with Exceptionalities.
  13. Ability to develop CBIEP goals and objectives in conjunction with Case Manager and parents.
  14. Ability to effectively offer learning opportunities to support the agreed upon goals and work collaboratively with Resource Teacher and Learning Support team.
  15. Demonstrated ability in the effective application of current brain-based strategies related to self-regulation, mindful behaviour, and problem solving.
  16. Knowledge and demonstrated ability in implementing restorative practices in the classroom.
  17. Ongoing commitment to professional development and implementation of best teaching practices.
  18. Demonstrated strong media literacy skills and the ability to apply them as instructional tools to support learning and problem-solving technology issues.
  19. Willingness to implement the goals and strategies of the school growth plan.
  20. Ability to manage a classroom-based budget.
