St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph is seeking a Physiotherapist to provide outpatient therapy services in a temporary part-time capacity. The role focuses on comprehensive assessments, developing individualized care plans, and promoting functional mobility for community clients.

You will collaborate with clients and families, mentor students, supervise Physiotherapy Assistants, and participate in quality-improvement initiatives while adhering to safety and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Registration in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Experience in evidence-based musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory practice.
  • Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills; adaptable to schedule changes.
  • Caring and compassionate in all client interactions.
  • Experience delivering physiotherapy services to geriatric populations, stroke, COPD and lower-extremity amputee groups.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physiotherapy assessments for new outpatient clients.
  • Complete timely and thorough clinical documentation.
  • Create and oversee client-centred care plans with personalized treatment goals.
  • Assign tasks to Physiotherapist Assistants and other support staff.
  • Monitor and modify treatment to achieve functional mobility goals.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and reporting outcomes.
  • Mentor physiotherapy students and PTA/OTA students per CPO standards.
  • Contribute to a safe environment by following safety policies.

(T/26-120) Physiotherapist - Outpatient Therapy (Temporary Part-Time)

The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive physiotherapyassessments, treatment, and care for community clients. The role involvesconducting initial assessments and regular reassessments, documentingclinical information, and developing personalized Physiotherapy care plans incollaboration with clients and their families. The incumbent monitors clientprogress and modifies treatments to achieve specific goals related totransfers, ambulation, strength, range of motion, balance, and functionalmobility. Additionally, they actively participate in continuous qualityimprovement initiatives, including measuring outcomes, gathering satisfactionfeedback, mentoring clinical physiotherapy students and supervisingPhysiotherapy assistants.

Key Accountabilities
  • ConductPhysiotherapy Assessments for all new Clients referred to OutpatientPhysiotherapy clinic
  • Completetimely and thorough clinical documentation.
  • Create andoversee client centred Physiotherapy care plans, establish personalizedtreatment goals in collaboration with the client and resident
  • Assign tasksto Physiotherapist Assistants and other support staff
  • Implement,monitor, and modify treatment to achieve or maintain client functionalmobility goals
  • Participatein continuous quality improvement for the clinic and organization includingmeasurable outcomes, satisfaction feedback, and quality improvement planning
  • Participatesin reporting of Outpatient program Ministry client care outcome statistics
  • Participatesin mentoring Physiotherapy students and PTA/OTA students in accordance withCPO standards.
  • Contributesto a transparent culture of client and staff safety by adhering to and abiding by patient and staff safety policies and procedures set by SJHCG
Qualifications & Experience
  • Registrant in goodstanding with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Knowledge/experience inevidence-based musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory practice,with a strong emphasis on improving functional outcomes
  • Superior communication andclinical reasoning skills; flexible and adaptable to changing clinicaldemands and schedules
  • Caring and compassionatein all interactions with clients and families
  • Preferred experience indelivery of Physiotherapy Services for the geriatric population, stroke,musculoskeletal, Chronic Obstructive lung disease and lower extremity amputeeconditions groups
  • Excellent time management,organizational and prioritization skills as relates to patient care
  • Ability to demonstrate astrong customer service philosophy
  • Demonstrated to beself-directed, seeking direction appropriately
