Job description

We are looking for a Systems Testing / QA Specialist to join our team.

Position Details: This role is in a hybrid mode based in downtown Toronto.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide advice on testing strategy, test plans, testing tools, and resource identification.
2. Plan and organize testing efforts for large systems in GUI and non-GUI environments, including integration, specialized, and user acceptance testing.
3. Develop and execute test plans, scripts, and cases in collaboration with project teams.

Must Haves:

• Work with teams, BAs, and stakeholders to understand user stories.
• Create and execute functional and non-functional test cases.
• Knowledge of testing management solutions, web technologies, and data-mining/reporting COTS tools (Nice to have).
• Understanding of SDLC, ITIL, relational databases, and SQL.
• Familiarity with AODA guidelines.
• Experience testing COTS applications like Case Management, Curam, Sibel, Oracle eBS.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.

Nice to Have:

• Experience testing Child Welfare applications.

General Skills:

• Planning, organizing, and implementing testing efforts.
• Knowledge of structured development methodologies, CASE tools, automated testing, version control, and various testing types.
• Supporting UAT and quality assurance principles.
• Creating comprehensive testing documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in programming, information retrieval, object-oriented testing, and information management.
• Experience with automated test scripts, testing COTS and Child Welfare applications, and Azure DevOps.
• Leadership experience as a QA team lead.

Technical Knowledge & Expertise (70%): As detailed above, including test planning, strategy, execution, defect analysis, and performance monitoring.

Communication & Project Management (15%) and Agile Experience (15%): Including project management, documentation, stakeholder interaction, and Agile methodologies.
