Job Summary :
We are seeking a dedicated Systems Testing / QA Specialist to lead testing efforts for critical systems supporting transit operations, with a focus on public sector and bus operations. This role involves developing test strategies, leading QA initiatives, and advocating for quality throughout the software development lifecycle. The selected candidate will contribute directly to the seamless operation of transit services by ensuring system reliability, compliance, and performance.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead planning, design, execution, and oversight of QA activities for complex systems.
Develop detailed test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
Conduct functional, regression, integration, performance, usability, and UAT testing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure complete test coverage and requirement traceability.
Identify, log, and track defects using defect management tools; ensure timely resolution.
Mentor junior QA staff on best practices, methodologies, and tool usage.
Automate appropriate test cases using industry tools and scripting.
Contribute to QA process improvements and compliance with organizational / public sector standards.
Participate in reviews, risk assessments, and continuous testing improvements.
Required Experience :
Minimum 7 years of experience in Systems Testing or QA
5+ years leading QA activities for complex applications and integrated systems
5+ years developing test strategies, test plans, and test scripts
5+ years conducting functional, regression, integration, performance, usability, and UAT testing
5+ years using defect management tools and collaborating on timely defect resolution
Experience in transit agency system testing
Experience in public sector environments
Familiarity with systems supporting bus operations (e.g., dispatch, fleet maintenance, fare collection)
Nice-to-Have Experience :
ISTQB Certification (Foundation, Advanced, or Manager level)
Experience with performance testing tools
SQL querying for data validation
Accessibility testing experience
Required Skills :
Proficiency in SDLC and testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
Expertise in Azure DevOps, Jira, ALM, or TestRail
Test automation with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or JMeter
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Clear communication of technical issues to varied stakeholders
Preferred Skills :
Excellent multitasking and time management in high-paced environments
Independent leadership of QA initiatives
Public sector regulatory and compliance awareness
Hands-on experience with QA process documentation and metrics reporting
Additional Skills :
Defect tracking and test documentation
Test coverage assessment and review participation
Knowledge-sharing and team mentorship
