Job description

Are you interested in a new and exciting opportunity? We are looking for a Mechanical System Responsible Engineer to act as the Asset Custodian (AC), Operational Authority (OA), and Client on assigned Infrastructure assets supporting strategic goals such as enhanced safety, risk management, compliance, reliability, sustainability targets (including energy efficiency and carbon neutrality by 2040), and cost reduction.

What you will be doing:

  1. Monitoring systems to identify deficiencies, risks, and opportunities for optimization; recommending and planning actions.
  2. Collaborating on project requirements, design reviews, system turnover, and defining requirements for both new and existing systems.
  3. Signing off on technical aspects of turnover documents.
  4. Working with Asset Management to interpret risk registers and prioritize investments.
  5. Ensuring systems comply with regulations and maintaining infrastructure configuration management.
  6. Performing other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or membership in a recognized professional organization; eligible for P.Eng in Ontario.
  • Experience: Knowledge of infrastructure and mechanical systems; certifications in codes, standards, sustainability, Asset Management, Project Management, or Risk Management are assets.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical/infrastructure systems, computer literacy, excellent communication, negotiation skills, and knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada.
  • Security Clearance: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC) with at least 3 years of verifiable history in Canada or equivalent countries.
