Job summary

A leading entertainment company in Canada is seeking a skilled Network and Systems Administrator to manage and secure its IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure system performance, engage with frontline staff, and implement technological enhancements. Ideal applicants will have at least 5 years of experience and strong knowledge of Fortinet and Microsoft security tools. Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network and systems administration.
  • Comfortable working across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Certifications in Fortinet, Microsoft, or cybersecurity are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain servers, UniFi networking, backups, and storage platforms.
  • Apply patches, perform system updates, and ensure timely vulnerability remediation.
  • Support disaster recovery readiness, access controls, and infrastructure inspections.
  • Administer Fortinet tools and M365 security suite.
  • Participate in incident response, forensics, and security audit support.
  • Implement IT upgrades and infrastructure refreshes.
  • Provide Tier 2 escalation support for advanced troubleshooting.

This is more than just a technical role; it’s a chance to help modernize and secure the infrastructure behind one of Alberta’s most recognized names in entertainment. You’ll also play a growing role in shaping how technology enables our business across all locations.

What You Will Do

As a core technical lead within the team, you'll be responsible for the stability, security, and performance of PURE's IT infrastructure. This is a hands-on role focused on proactive infrastructure management, strong cybersecurity practices, and visible collaboration with frontline teams and IT leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems Oversight
  • Monitor and maintain servers, UniFi networking, backups, and storage platforms.
  • Apply patches, perform system updates, and ensure timely vulnerability remediation.
  • Support disaster recovery readiness, access controls, and infrastructure inspections.
Security & Compliance
  • Administer Fortinet tools (FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiClient) and M365 security suite (Defender, Purview, Entra ID).
  • Participate in incident response, forensics, and security audit support.
  • Maintain system logs and security configurations aligned with best practices.
Project & Modernization Support
  • Implement IT upgrades, infrastructure refreshes, and system hardening initiatives.
  • Contribute to planning and execution of department-wide technology enhancements.
Business Alignment & Floor Integration
  • Spend time on the floor engaging with operational leaders and frontline staff.
  • Identify pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities to better leverage existing tools.
  • Collaborate with business units to help translate technology into real-world benefit.
Helpdesk & Mentorship
  • Provide Tier 2 escalation support for advanced troubleshooting.
  • Mentor Helpdesk staff and contribute to improving internal support processes.
Asset Management & Reporting
  • Oversee hardware lifecycle management and maintain up-to-date inventory.
  • Submit monthly reporting on infrastructure changes, outages, and compliance.
What You Will Bring
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network and systems administration.
  • Strong knowledge of :
  • Fortinet Security Fabric (FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiClient)
  • Ubiquiti UniFi networks
  • Microsoft 365 security tools (Defender, Purview, Entra ID)
  • Comfortable working across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Strong understanding of TCP / IP, VPNs, ZTNA, and network performance analysis.
  • Familiarity with CCTV or physical security systems considered an asset.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and ITIL-based support models.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Certifications in Fortinet, Microsoft, or cybersecurity are preferred.
