Job Description

Come join the MAINSAIL Team to support the United States Air Force as a contractor! The Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN) program is in search of a Systems Interoperability and Integration Engineer to work alongside the Government at Hanscom Air Force Base. This program supports a critical system that provides secure and reliable communication between air and ground forces, particularly in areas with limited line-of-sight due to terrain or distance. This position is full time and duties are to be performed at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA.

The Contractor shall have the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience in performing all tasks defined below: Provide knowledge and experience in technical requirements development, planning, cybersecurity implementations, IA, system/ program protection implementations, Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) analysis, spectrum management, standards implementations, IT analysis, engineering and technical analysis, test and control functions necessary to assure that the integrated system elements satisfy compatibility and performance requirements (i.e., operational, technical, derived, horizontal, and inherited) established over the life cycle of weapon systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Secure User Interaction with Networked C3, IT, and ISR System of Systems. Knowledge and experience in developing technical requirements, technical documentation, technical approaches, acquisition strategies, technology modernization strategies and plans, weapon system integrated solutions, test methodologies, capabilities, and analyses required to satisfy warfighter requirements to securely interact with land-based, sea-based, airborne, and space platforms, systems, and networks typically employed in strategic, theater, and tactical air operations.
  • Secure User Interaction with Legacy and 4th, 5th, and 6th Manned and Unmanned Combat, C3, IT, and ISR Systems. Knowledge and experience in developing technical requirements, technical documentation, technical approaches, acquisition strategies technology modernization strategies and plans, and weapon system integrated solutions, test methodologies, capabilities, and analyses required to securely interact machine-to-machine with land-based, sea-based, airborne, and space platforms, systems, and networks typically employed in strategic, theater, and tactical air operations.
  • Secure User Interaction with Multi-Service Strategic, Theater, and Tactical Logistics IT Systems. Knowledge and experience in developing technical requirements, technical documentation, technical approaches, acquisition strategies, technology modernization strategies and plans, and weapon system integrated solutions, test methodologies, capabilities, and analyses required for weapon systems to integrate with agile combat support planning and control IT systems that enable inventory control by lot or serial number or RF Identification or COMSEC components, shipping, and expenditure tracking.
  • Experience using the Sparx and/or Magic Draw modeling applications for development of DoDAF 2/SysML architecture products.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements: Master’s degree in engineering and 15 years of experience which must be interoperability and integration engineering experience, 5 years of which must be in DoD.
