Job summary

Interac Corp. in Toronto is seeking a Systems Engineer to support high-availability infrastructure, deliver cloud and on-premises administration, and drive IT security initiatives.

The role emphasizes patch management, vulnerability response, and strong documentation practices. The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of VMware, Windows Server, and Azure experience, along with ISO27001 knowledge, AD/Exchange/SQL familiarity, and a collaborative, process-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT and 3+ years IT working experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in strict change-controlled environments.
• 3+ years professional experience managing VMware core components (vCenter/ESX).
• Knowledge and experience in ISO27001 governed ISMS.
• Experience with Azure cloud solutions and related services.
• Knowledge of Active Directory sites and services (ADFS, Azure AD Connect, Exchange Server, MS SQL).

Responsibilities

• Ensuring high availability in support of SLAs and SLOs for critical systems.
• Providing system administration for cloud (Azure and AWS) and virtualized on-prem environments (VMware).
• Installing, configuring, maintaining, and tuning Windows & RHEL components.
• Monitoring system health, dashboards, and capacity; managing alerts and trends.
• Executing software currency and patch management strategies.
• Documenting Retrospectives, Root Cause Analysis, and technical procedures.
• Maintaining ISO program documentation and coordinating audits.
• Coordinating with vendors and ensuring clear communication with partners.
