The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, serving as a prime integrator for high-performance ISR and aviation systems, including both manned and unmanned aircraft. Its capabilities cover design, integration, testing, certification, training, and logistics support, consistently exceeding expectations in cost, performance, and schedule.

We value bold thinkers and innovative minds at Sierra Nevada Corporation. As a Systems Engineer, you will research, architect, model, simulate, test, and improve cutting-edge products and services. Your role involves developing complex system architectures, managing system-level ownership throughout the product lifecycle, and serving as an EMP subject matter expert to verify survivability requirements, especially to ensure operation through nuclear events. You will also coordinate with subcontractors to support requirements development and review technical documentation.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering or related discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience (higher education may substitute experience)
  • Practical knowledge of engineering principles
  • Strong communication skills
  • Subject matter expertise in MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-3023, and MIL-STD-2169
  • Knowledge of HEMP and CS116 standards
  • Ability to support system needs and act as a technical consultant in HEMP design
  • Experience in RF design projects from concept to production
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
  • Understanding of requirements management, system design, integration, risk management, and V&V principles
  • Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance required, with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with requirements management and modeling tools (e.g., DOORS, Rhapsody, MATLAB)
  • Knowledge of mechanical design principles and Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
  • Certification or experience with MIL standards
  • Experience in EMI/EMP compliance design, including cable/harness analysis and EMI filtering
  • Background in Aerospace and Defense industry
  • Experience with technical performance measurements and baseline management
  • Active Top Secret clearance

Estimated starting salary ranges from $108,496.89 to $149,183.22, depending on experience, skills, and location. SNC offers comprehensive benefits, including health plans, 401(k) matching, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.
