Job Title : Systems Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team as a contractor. This position requires a professional with 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, dedicated to developing, designing, and optimizing system architecture. The role involves defining and managing interfaces, ensuring compliance with size, weight, and power constraints, and collaborating with project management on cost management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and optimize system architecture, including the identification and integration of subsystems.
• Define system, subsystem, and component interfaces ensuring alignment with requirements.
• Monitor and manage system SWAP constraints while maintaining compliance with performance, cost, and functional requirements.
• Support the management of customer and system-level requirements in a requirements management system and create evidence items to maintain a verification strategy for product development and production.
• Collaborate with project management to define system cost constraints and develop cost reduction strategies.
• Create and maintain system design documents and verification plans to ensure traceability between design and requirements.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and alignment with project requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience (8+ is ideal)
• Experience with architecture definition and interface management.
• Experience developing interface control documents.
• Expertise in size, weight, and power management.
• Proficiency in requirements management systems, with DOORs experience as an asset.
• Ability to create and maintain documentation for system design and verification.
