Job summary

Altis Technology in Gatineau is seeking a Systems Designer to translate customer and business requirements into scalable infrastructure and database designs. You will contribute to system architecture, prototype solutions, and validate complex telecom and IT components across databases, Windows, virtualization, and networking.

The role requires 4+ years in related technical environments, with hands-on experience in PostgreSQL/MySQL/MariaDB, VMware/Proxmox, and scripting.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Systems Design, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical environment.
• Experience translating technical or business requirements into system designs and implementation plans.
• Experience producing technical documentation, qualification plans, and test cases.
• Experience with database technologies including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MariaDB.
• Experience designing database reports and working with data analysis.
• Understanding of database replication, backup/restore, and failover concepts.
• Strong experience with Windows Server 2016+ and enterprise Windows environments.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Proxmox.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and OSI Layer 2/Layer 3 concepts is an asset
• Experience with server hardware, debugging, troubleshooting, and systems integration.
• Experience with Active Directory, PowerShell, Bash, Docker, Kubernetes, or Ansible is considered an asset.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• A passion for learning new technologies and working across a diverse range of infrastructure, database, and networking solutions.
