Job summary

The Town of Cochrane is seeking a Systems Application Technician to join our Information Services team. You will act as the primary technical resource for business applications, manage SharePoint Online, and develop integrations across ERP and Microsoft 365 platforms.

You will collaborate with business units, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement process improvements. A diploma/degree with 3+ years’ experience is required, plus a strong customer-service focus and adaptability.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting business applications and technology solutions.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Windows Server, SQL, and cloud-based services, with experience administering and optimizing SharePoint Online environments.
  • Experience configuring, integrating, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications, ERP systems, Microsoft 365 solutions, and associated manual and automated integrations.
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting, reporting, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, security principles, virtualization technologies, and data governance practices.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Certifications in Microsoft, ITIL, SharePoint, Power Platform, Project Management, or related areas are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical resource for business applications, providing expert support, troubleshooting, and administration.
  • Maintain, enhance, and support business systems and platforms, including developing, monitoring, and troubleshooting manual and automated integrations between ERP, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise systems.
  • Develop technology solutions using Microsoft 365 tools, including SharePoint, Teams, Power Apps, and Power Automate, to meet organizational needs.
  • Administer and support the organization's SharePoint Online environment, including site administration, document management, permissions, governance, security, external sharing, Microsoft 365 integrations, content migrations, workflow automation, and end-user support.
  • Support software implementations, upgrades, projects, and process improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand business requirements, recommend solutions, and improve workflows.
  • Manage relationships with software vendors to coordinate support, issue resolution, and system enhancements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, configuration standards, and knowledge resources.
  • Train and support users, promoting the effective adoption and use of technology solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

In This Role You Will
