Description
- Technical expertise and coordination of administration, monitoring, management, implementation, and support of desktops, network, and server environments.
- Support Ambulance Communication Centre (ACC) integrated 911 solutions such as CAD, radio, phone, GIS, and paging within assigned ACCs.
- Provide technical subject matter expertise in multiple projects related to Radio, Telecom, Satellite Systems, and Digital Voice Recording and Retrieval.
- Execute and support 911 dispatch centres' emergency COOP activation plans.
- Provide 24/7 on-site and remote support for emergency 911 ambulance dispatching equipment across the province.
- Coordinate administration, monitoring, management, implementation, and support of relevant systems.
- Provide work estimates, capture business requirements, and update business rules.
- Offer technical expertise for multiple technology projects, including Radio, Telecom, Satellite, and Digital Voice systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior technical expertise, project leadership, and coordination for diverse IT solutions.
- Advise clients and leverage public sector IT solutions to meet program goals efficiently.
- Possess a technical diploma or degree in electronics technology with extensive practical experience or equivalent.
- Have knowledge and experience with voice/data systems, radio-trunking, P25 standards, and network topologies.
- Analyze results and perform cost-benefit analyses.
- Use basic RF test equipment and understand vehicle electrical systems related to radio installations.
- Understand desktop hardware, PC technologies, network configurations, server OS, and security threats.
- Be familiar with government IT policies, ITIL practices, project management, and business process understanding.
- Understand emergency health services and interface requirements for emergency communications.
- Participate in and assist with IT training and develop training materials.
- Apply operational disciplines, negotiation, conflict resolution, and change management skills.
- Stay current with emerging telecommunications technologies used in emergency health services.
- Perform telecommunications installation, configuration, testing, and diagnostics.
- Interpret and apply relevant legislation such as the Ambulance Act and Personal Health Information Protection Act.

Technical Skills (30%): Server and network technology, IP telephony, radio technologies, system interoperability, emergency services standards.

Communications (15%): Strong verbal/written communication, interpersonal skills, team player, deadline-oriented.
Must Haves
- 5+ years as a systems analyst.
- Experience in critical 24x7 environments and the PSRN project.
- Understanding of emergency health services and ambulance communications.
