Job summary

PCL Constructors Inc. in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a major construction project. You will provide on-site IT support, deploy tech solutions, and work with project teams to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Highschool diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in computer technology or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in a related field.
  • Access to reliable transportation is required to travel to project sites.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
  • Intermediate problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a focus on proactive solutions.
  • Organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Results oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Intermediate understanding of networking standards.
  • Must lift up to 23 kg as part of regular duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provides on-site user IT support to one of our major construction projects, with some remote and on-site assistance to other groups as needed.
  • Promote the adoption of technology solutions at district jobsites, including deployment, training and ongoing support.
  • Identify improvements and create solutions for processes and technologies.
  • Work with project teams to identify innovations, challenges, issues and solutions.
  • Build working relationships with project and district teams.
  • Provide implementation support on corporate and regional initiatives.
  • Site setup and maintenance for technologies and infrastructure, including remote support.
  • Administers and monitors server resources and ensure optimal operation.
  • Plans creates and delivers technical training and other resources.
  • Resolve user-reported problems through timely logging and resolution.
  • Assist other team members with technical issues.

  • Assists other team members with technical issues.
