Title: Systems Administrator

Reports to: IT Operations Manager

Location: Barrie Ontario

Hybrid: Onsite 3 days per week

Job Purpose: Provide hands on systems administration support, systems maintenance, and operations support. Set up, maintain, repair and upgrade computers, servers, operating systems and applications, as well as infrastructure which allow associates to communicate (for example: network cables and hubs). Provide end-user support of all application running corporate wide.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Implement and manage LAN and WAN infrastructure including all switches, security appliances, subnets, VLANS and routing.
  • Implement, and manage wireless solution for Wolf Steel Ltd. including VLANs, ACLs, traffic shaping and firewall rules, group policies, multiple corporate and guest SSID's and radio frequencies.
  • Manage all operating systems and end-user software for Wolf Steel Ltd.
  • Manage virtualized environments and infrastructure for Wolf Steel Ltd.
  • AD Administration including design, configure, implement, and manage: Group Policies; Security Groups; User accounts; Logon scripts.
  • Tier 2/3 desktop support, Design, configure, implement, and manage scripts to streamline and error-proof level 1 helpdesk tasks.
  • Implement, and manage surveillance systems.
  • Implement, and manage SANs.
  • Configure and manage backup software and related jobs (including testing routine system backups and restores).
  • Phone System Administration (including all components from PBX to peripherals and related software).
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
  • Assist with facilitating automation in order to streamline and error-proof business functions.
  • Ensure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, and servers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Post secondary education in Computer Science preferred.
  • CCNA graduate, ITIL 2011 Foundation, VMware vSphere: Install, configure, Manager [V5.5] training.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+, MCP, MCSA.
  • MS Active Directory.
  • Change Management, Virtualization, Help Desk, Desk Top Support.
  • Will participate in on call rotation 24/7 schedule, including holidays and weekends.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Occasional travel outside Canada may be required.
  • First Aid Certification required or must be acquired within 3 months of starting in role (Napoleon to provide training).
  • Working from heights may be required.
