Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a talented Senior System/Network Engineer to join our team. The System Engineer will develop solutions and identify performance improvement opportunities. If you enjoy debugging and redesign work, this is a great opportunity for you!

What You'll Be Doing:
  1. Conduct functional and connectivity testing to ensure operability.
  2. Interface with customers and vendors to determine system needs.
  3. Develop and document system administration procedures.
  4. Maintain system security according to policies.
  5. Manage accounts, network rights, and access.
  6. Plan, execute, and verify data redundancy and recovery procedures.
  7. Install, update, troubleshoot systems and servers.
  8. Follow standard operating procedures for system administration.
  9. Implement and enforce network usage policies.
  10. Manage system resources including performance and capacity.
  11. Monitor and maintain configurations.
  12. Perform hardware repairs.
  13. Troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
  14. Identify open-source tools for customer and production platforms.
  15. Evaluate new products and provide network solutions.
  16. Use management tools to discover and map networks.
  17. Plan network resource integration.
  18. Research new technologies and strategies.
  19. Configure Palo Alto and Cisco devices for sensors.
  20. Implement firewall policies.
  21. Assist in hardware procurement.
  22. Manage enterprise network security.
  23. Report on network architectures and services.
Required Skills:
  • HS Diploma + 10 years experience or Bachelor’s degree + 5-8 years experience.
  • Active DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP).
  • TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
  • Experience with Linux tools, performance tuning, and containers.
  • Knowledge of open-source tools and standards.
  • Ability to manage a team of administrators.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux, virtualization (VMware, OpenStack, OpenShift).
  • Networking, Active Directory, hardware troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of security and project design within RMF.
Desired Skills:
  • In-depth RHEL 8 security knowledge.
  • Experience with virtualization and performance management.
  • Docker administration.
  • Performance analysis and efficiency improvements.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure).
  • Solutions for cybersecurity sensors and networking.
  • Certifications like CCNA or Palo Alto experience is a plus.

Salary Range: $120,800 - $217,400
