Thales Group in Halifax, NS, is seeking a Systems Engineering Sub-Discipline Manager to lead the Systems Engineering team across bids, projects and products. You will plan workloads, mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement while ensuring disciplined use of MBSE and requirements management practices.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support recruitment and performance management, and uphold security and governance standards in a hybrid Halifax role.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or technical diploma in a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of SysEng team management experience in the last 10 years.
  • Minimum 2 years of SysEng function responsibility in the last 10 years.
  • Minimum 1 year as Systems Engineering Manager for Capital or In-Service contracts.
  • Experience with Requirements Management and a SysEng standard.

Responsibilities

  • Plan team workload in short, medium and long term; manage resources to meet cost, schedule and quality.
  • Lead process standardization and tooling for the discipline; drive lessons learned.
  • Perform SysEng work on bids, projects and products with a holistic systems view.

The Systems Engineering Sub-Discipline Manager supports the Manager, Systems Engineering in inspiring and catalysing the improvement of best practices, processes, tools and governance within the Systems Engineering discipline, ensuring that they are mastered effectively. They act as a primary point of contact on complex subjects and take on an educational role so that their team can reach discipline excellence and deliver competitive solutions within a multidisciplinary environment. They are a mentor and coach - serving the discipline’s engineers and offering a diverse and inclusive environment.
