Job summary

Matchtech is partnering with a key client in Toronto to recruit multiple Requirements Engineers at various grades for permanent roles on major rail and transit projects. These positions offer hybrid working arrangements in Toronto and competitive remuneration depending on grade and experience.

As a Requirements Lead, you will drive requirements management across the full lifecycle in line with ISO/IEC 15288, oversee baselines, verification, and collaboration with change and configuration teams

Qualifications

• 10+ years in the rail transit industry with a minimum of 3 years in requirements engineering.
• Proficient with IBM DOORS NG (administrator level).
• Understanding of requirements management principles, V-model lifecycle, and change control.
• Exposure to construction and T&C activities, RAMS, Human Factors, and Systems Integration processes.
• Licensed P.Eng. in Ontario; INCOSE Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Capture client needs through development of user, stakeholder, operational, system, and subsystem requirements.
• Develop and implement the Requirements Management Approach, plans, and processes.
• Design and manage requirements databases using industry-standard tools (e.g., IBM DOORS Next Generation).
• Maintain requirements baselines throughout the project lifecycle, including change control.
• Ensure verification and validation of requirements, linking them to tests and results.
• Collaborate with configuration and change management teams to maintain systematic documentation and KPIs.

Matchtech is working with a key client in Toronto to support the recruitment of a number of Requirements Engineers. These roles are open to various grades/levels and offering competitive renumeration packages depending on the grade/years of industry experience.

These positions are looking for permanent staff to work on high profile railway and transit projects on a hybrid basis.

As a Requirements Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering large-scale rail infrastructure projects. You’ll lead requirements management activities across the full project lifecycle in line with ISO/IEC 15288 practices, ensuring clarity, compliance, and collaboration at every stage.
