Job Title : Systems Administrator

6-month contract, 3 days / week onsite in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area

Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa

On behalf of our client, we’re seeking a Junior to Intermediate Systems Administrator to join a collaborative IT operations team in a Microsoft-centric, multi-site business environment . This is a great opportunity for someone early in their IT career who’s looking to deepen their technical experience and grow into more advanced responsibilities.

The role primarily focuses on Tier 1 desktop support , with the opportunity to assist in Tier 2 tasks such as server administration and SharePoint management. The ideal candidate brings a mix of technical know-how, attention to detail, and a proactive, service-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues across the organization
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies using Active Directory and Azure AD
  • Support users with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive
  • Assist in maintaining SharePoint Online , including access management and site-level troubleshooting
  • Provision and deploy laptops / desktops, including imaging and software installation
  • Participate in routine server administration tasks such as patching, backups, and file share management
  • Monitor system health and escalate issues where appropriate
  • Maintain internal documentation and contribute to the IT knowledge base
  • Track, prioritize, and resolve service tickets using a help desk system

Qualifications

Required :

  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support or a junior systems administration role
  • Solid knowledge of Windows 10 / 11 and Microsoft 365 tools
  • Experience with user and group management in Active Directory
  • Familiarity with SharePoint Online from a support or admin perspective
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts (VPN, DNS, DHCP)
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused, team-oriented approach
  • Comfortable working within a structured ticketing system
  • Preferred (Assets) :

  • Exposure to Windows Server , Hyper-V , and backup technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune , Endpoint Manager , or SCCM
  • Basic knowledge of PowerShell scripting or other automation tools
  • Certifications such as AZ-900 , MD-102 , or CompTIA A+
