A leading IT services consultancy in Toronto is looking for a Mid-Senior Level Systems Administrator. The role involves collaborating with a fast-paced development team to maintain system uptime, embedding DevOps practices, and supporting IBM products. Job description

Role Description

  • Collaborate closely with a fast-paced development team to maintain a 99.99% uptime ratio.
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement and help embed DevOps practices and agile methodologies.
  • Join an on-call schedule to support and perform after-hours maintenance of supported systems and services.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to junior team members.
  • Collaborate with various vendor and technology partners.

Required Skill Set :

  • 5-7 years of supported Linux operating systems (RedHat).
  • 5-7 years supporting IBM Products (WebSphere, IHS, MQ, LDAP, TSM).
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps tools (Ansible, Github, Atlassian products).
  • Kubernetes / OpenShift experience is a plus.
  • Strong experience with AWS cloud technologies (IaaS, PaaS, Cloud Observability).
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes including Problem and Change Management, Configuration and Release Management.
  • Strong understanding of networking, VMware, and patching.
  • Experience managing Production, Disaster Recovery, and non-production environments.
  • Good documentation skills, capable of writing technical procedures and support documents.
  • Self-motivated with a can-do attitude and customer-service orientation.
  • Applied problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Solid teamwork, coaching, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and learn.

Desired Skill Set :

  • Experience with Dynatrace, ITSM, ServiceNow, Confluence, and JIRA.
