Innergex Renewable Energy Inc. is seeking a Systems Administrator to manage Windows, Azure, Microsoft 365 and VMware environments across on-prem and cloud data centers.

The role requires bilingual FR/EN communication and a minimum of 3 years of systems administration experience. Reporting to the Senior Manager - IT Infrastructure, you will participate in on-call rotations, support critical infrastructure for our energy sites, and help improve security, performance and automation.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows, Azure, Microsoft 365, and VMware environments.
• Operate hybrid on-prem and cloud data centers.

• Analyze performance, capacity, and security for stability.
• Implement new tech solutions and optimize infrastructure.
• Resolve complex incidents and advise internal teams.
• Monitor environments for security and operations alerts.
• Collaborate with operations and construction teams at sites.
• Automate admin tasks with scripts.
• Participate in system updates and maintenance.
• Contribute to on-call rotation and continuity.

Your contribution!

Reporting to the Senior Manager - IT Infrastructure, the Systems Administrator plays a key role in the operation, evolution, and security of the company’s technology environments. Working alongside a team of specialists, the person ensures the smooth operation of hybrid infrastructures (on-premises and cloud-based) that support Innergex’s corporate operations and renewable energy facilities in Canada, the United States, France, and Chile. They participate in large-scale technology projects, the optimization of IT and OT environments, process automation, and the maintenance of high standards of performance, availability, and cybersecurity. The person in this role will be required to participate in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure support for critical infrastructure outside of normal working hours, including evenings and weekends.

Your day-to day!

• Administer and evolve Windows, Azure, Microsoft 365, and VMware environments.

• Ensure the operation of hybrid infrastructures (on-premises and cloud-based) and data centers.

• Manage essential services such as Active Directory, Entra ID, Exchange, VDI, virtual servers, and SaaS/PaaS solutions.

• Analyze system performance, capacity, and security to ensure stability and availability.

• Participate in the implementation of new technological solutions and the continuous improvement of infrastructure.

• Help resolve complex incidents and serve as a technical expert for internal teams.

• Monitor IT environments and respond to security and operational alerts.

• Collaborate with operations and construction teams to support renewable energy production sites.

• Automate certain administrative tasks using scripts and appropriate tools.

• Participate in system updates, scheduled maintenance, and optimization.

• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and contribute to operational continuity by providing support for critical infrastructure when required.

• Maintain thorough and up-to-date technical documentation.

• Contribute to audits, IT controls, and adherence to compliance and cybersecurity requirements.

• Serve as an advisor to the team on best practices and emerging technologies.

Your skills, our requirements!

• Bilingualism (French and English, both spoken and written) is required to collaborate with various stakeholders outside Quebec on a regular basis.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in systems administration

• Must be available and able to participate in a rotating on-call schedule and contribute to business continuity by providing support for critical infrastructure when required.
