Overview

Adecco is currently seeking an experienced System Administrator to support IT operations and infrastructure in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This 4-month contract role is located in Halifax, NS, with a potential for permanent placement based on performance and business needs.

Pay rate : TBD based on experience

Location : Halifax, NS

Job type : Temporary with potential for permanent placement | Full-time

Responsibilities
  • Performing routine system admin tasks: server upgrades, patching, user account maintenance, and migrations.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Monitoring, administering, and maintaining on-prem and hybrid cloud IT environments.
  • Leveraging automation and monitoring tools for infrastructure, storage, and network troubleshooting.
  • Collaborating with IT / IS teams to resolve incidents and support technology solutions.
  • Participating in cross-functional projects and rollouts aligned with business objectives.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation including system configurations, incident logs, and technical knowledge bases.
  • Identifying and documenting recurring issues to support continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator or similar IT role.
  • Strong understanding of Windows / Linux server environments, networking, and system admin best practices.
  • Proven hands-on experience with hybrid cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Skilled in using infrastructure monitoring tools, automation platforms, and patch management systems.
  • Working knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and storage management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications: MCSA / MCSE, CompTIA Server+ / Network+, VMware VCP.
  • Scripting or automation experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.
  • Background in supporting mid-size to enterprise IT environments.
