Position Summary

We are seeking a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Systems Engineer to join our systems team in Montreal. The engineer will support the definition, development, verification, and testing of SAR payloads, working within the System Engineering Department.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain requirements for SAR antenna subsystems and other payload components.
2. Manage requirements traceability and justification activities.
3. Lead or coordinate the development of design architectures and performance budgets at the subsystem level.
4. Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure design architectures meet mission requirements.
5. Prepare for and support design reviews; generate technical documentation.
6. Create and maintain verification plans, matrices, and detailed testing requirements.
7. Develop matrices to track hardware development progress.
8. Design test plans and support testing activities through to production.
9. Review test data, evaluate non-compliances, and support automated data processing efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with SAR and RF system design, beam forming, and antenna parameters.
• Knowledge of system testing, including radiated tests such as planar near-field range.
• Understanding of space and ground segment antenna design, specifications, and integration methodologies.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and other simulation tools.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with requirements management tools like Windchill or Jama.
• Previous involvement in space programs.
• Experience with modeling and simulation software.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of French is a plus.

Additional Requirements

Successful candidates must obtain security clearance at the reliability level and pass assessments for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
