Job description

1:Candidate must have experience at a minimum being a technical lead on two (2) large scale ($1Million+) IT projects, in a Solution Architect role, start to finish as a project team member. Provide detail information on the two (2) projects that fit this experience to include company name, project description, technologies and methodologies applied/used, annual project cost and project duration. As additional information, include all projects that fit this experience beyond the two (2) required.

2. Candidate must have architecture and/or hands-on experience with two or more of the following technologies: o Web Gateway Solution

o Cloud Security Solution

o Network Access Control

o Endpoint Security Solution

o Next Generation Firewall Solution

3. Candidate must have architecture and/or hands-on experience with one or more of the following methodologies; o Rational Unified Process (RUP)

o TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework)

o Sherwood Applied Business Security Architecture (SABSA)

4. Candidate must have experience working within a governance framework for change management and information management.

5. Candidate must have experience managing the human side of digital disruption via adoption frameworks

Background

SaskEnergy is seeking a Security Solution Architect Resource with a broad-based background of technical experience and knowledgeable with security architecture, concepts, and frameworks, to be part of the Enterprise Security team to provide Information Technology (IT) and security solutions to business problems.

These solutions may include systems, applications, infrastructure or processes, and may involve the enterprise and integration of a wide variety of products, services and technologies. The Security Solution Architect position requires extensive knowledge of systems, architectures, systems management, networking, network computing and application design techniques, different platform implementations and should be able to identify, evaluate and select the elements of the solution which best meet the business needs of the client organization.

Solution Architect Resources apply extensive knowledge to products, technologies, services and methodologies in response to business needs. The skills required of all Solution Architects are very broad, and come from all of the technical disciplines in which IT Architects are directly involved. Also required are strong personal business, industry and project management skills.

Security Solution Architects are engaged in security, enterprise design and / or development for transforming client requirements and process models into plans, process IT solutions which include hardware, software, network and data specifications. Activities include technical planning, build vs. buy assessment, reviews, development of architecture, and modification of specifications for customized application solution components.

Typical activities in this role include but not limited to:

1. Leading solution evaluation and assuming a technical leadership role as part of the core team on Enterprise Security projects, acting as the representative for Digital, Technology and Security (DT&S).

2. Ensuring solutions are in alignment with security, enterprise strategies and focused on business outcomes.

3. Developing non-functional and technical specifications for solution RFP documents.

4. Development of proof of concepts

5. Ensuring solutions and services are successfully and sustainably delivered into operations.

6. Actively contributing to architecture boards and continued improvement of our practice.

7. Collaborate with technical resources to deliver solutions.

8. Work with project teams to develop the conceptual architecture design; ensuring it contains appropriate level of guidance (business, information, application, security and technical perspective).

9. Aiding and mentorship as required.

Experience:

1. At minimum a technical lead on two (2) large ($1Million+) IT projects, in a Solution Architect role, from start to finish as part of a project team. Indicate all projects that fit this experience if more than the two (2) required.

2. Architecture and/or hands-on experience with two or more of the following technologies:

o Web Gateway Solution

o Cloud Security Solution

o Network Access Control

o Endpoint Security Solution

o Next Generation Firewall Solution

  • Architecture and/or hands-on experience with one or more of the following methodologies: o Rational Unified Process (RUP)
  • TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework)
  • Sherwood Applied Business Security Architecture (SABSA)
  • Experience working within a governance framework for change management and information management.
  • Experience managing the human side of digital disruption via adoption frameworks, for example Experience leveraging the Microsoft Service Adoption Framework.
  • Expert level communicator (ability to communicate and present effectively, create effective tailored content).
  • Experience working closely with the business to guide them from start to finish thru the solutioning process and into final delivery.
  • Canadian federal, provincial, municipal government or similar work
  • Government of Saskatchewan / Utilities or similar work
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. CISSP, CISM, SABSA certifications would be considered an asset.

NOTE: Above should be clearly detailed within submitted Resume.

The proponent will be required on site at SaskEnergy Head Office in Regina, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm and the proposed hourly rate shall be inclusive of all travel and living costs (PST and GST are extra).

The key skills and knowledge areas required for the resource are outlined in attached Appendix C – Supplementary Specifications. North American job experience is considered an asset for this proposal. Proponents are encouraged to provide specific and qualitative verbiage of other areas where their expertise can add value to our teams and make our projects as successful as possible. We are looking for a well-rounded Solutions Architect Resource to fill this role.
