Job summary

Procor Limited, part of Marmon Holdings, is seeking a Switchperson for a permanent afternoon shift. You will relocate trailers within a distribution center, switch railcars, and perform tank car repairs as assigned to ensure smooth operations.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 12 midnight with a half-hour unpaid lunch, and you will follow health and safety standards including WHMIS. You will work both independently and as part of a team in a busy industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Experience switching railcars and performing tank car repairs.
• Adherence to health and safety standards, including WHMIS.
• Comfortable working in loud environments and around machinery.

Transports trailers within a distribution center. Moves trailers between shipping and receiving as necessary to load and unload merchandise. Applies seals to loaded trailers to prepare them to exit the facility. Records trailer movement and complete yard reports.

Job Classification & Compensation

• Job Classification: Switchperson - permanent afternoon shift
• Wage Rate: $39.24/hr. Night shift premium of $1.40/hour will apply
• Hours of work: Five (5) eight (8) hour days – Monday to Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 12mn., with a half hour lunch (unpaid).

Principal Duties

• Switching of railcars
• Tank car repairs as assigned
• Adhering to health and safety standards, including Responsible Care policy
• Additional related duties as assigned

Competencies

• Proficient in the efficient use of the Track mobile
• Competent and safe use of shop tools and equipment: electric/pneumatic/hydraulic tools, cranes, shears, and hand tools
• WHMIS training and experience dealing with hazardous commodities
• Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, around machinery, and in conditions where there are loud noises and fumes
• Works well as part of a team as well as independently
• Performs tasks that require moderate to heavy physical exertion

Pay Range: 39.24
