Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Switchboard Operator | Registration Clerk to join their team. This position involves working rotating shifts, including days and nights from 06:30 to 18:30 and 18:30 to 06:30.

What Will You Work On?

In this role, you will perform a variety of duties related to switchboard, registration, and cashier responsibilities, including:

• Operating the switchboard, public address system, and other paging devices;
• Receiving and directing patients and visitors;
• Responding to and monitoring hospital alarms and emergency codes;
• Maintaining physician on-call and vacation lists, along with other hospital staff schedules;
• Patient registration;
• Admitting clerical duties, including bed booking;
• Cashier duties such as receiving payments, recording transactions, and issuing change and receipts;
• Receiving, checking, and depositing patient valuables for safekeeping.
