Position Summary

Creston Valley Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Switchboard, Cashier, Registration, Health Records Clerk to join their team in Creston, B.C.!

This position involves rotating days from Monday to Friday, with shifts varying between 07:00 to 17:00, including specific schedules such as 07:00 to 15:00, 07:00 to 13:30, 08:00 to 16:00, 08:00 to 14:30, 09:00 to 17:00, and 09:45 to 17:00. Days off include Sunday, Saturday, and stat holidays.

What Will You Work On?

This position involves clerical duties including operating the switchboard, patient registration, health records management, cashier functions, and maintaining supplies. Responsibilities include:

  1. Operating switchboard, public address, and paging systems.
  2. Receiving and directing patients and visitors.
  3. Managing health records, including pulling, assembling, correcting, and processing requests for information.
  4. Responding to hospital alarms and emergency codes.
  5. Maintaining physician on-call and staff lists.
  6. Patient registration.
  7. Cashier duties, including receiving payments, recording transactions, and issuing receipts.
  8. Maintaining supply inventory and ordering stock as needed.
  9. Safekeeping and checking patient valuables.
  10. Performing clerical tasks such as typing, data entry, and file management.

Qualifications

Education, Training & Experience:

  • Grade twelve education.
  • One (1) year of recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Completion of a typing test at 45 WPM or greater, issued within the past 48 months from a valid institution only. (Non-supervised tests are not accepted.)
