A Swim Instructor at British Swim School teaches swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3 months old, using our fun, gentle, and progressive methods. You will receive extensive training to build confidence and work with a variety of swimmers and abilities. Having fun and engaging with swimmers is a key part of the role! A strong focus is placed on teaching survival swim techniques to help reduce drowning.
Your Typical Responsibilities:
- Support the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s)
- Follow British Swim School's curriculum to ensure safe and effective lessons
- Work evenings (4pm-8pm), weekends (9am-2pm), and holidays as needed
- Maintain certifications throughout employment
- Work in environments with moderate to high noise levels and stand in water for up to 5 hours
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enthusiastic personality
- Comfortable in and around water; strong swimming skills are a plus but can be developed
- Maintain certifications throughout employment
- Complete all required British Swim School training and testing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with children
- 1-2 years of swimming experience (preferred but not required)
- Customer service experience (1 year preferred)
- Life-saving certifications (Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED) preferred but can be obtained during training
