SWIMMING INSTRUCTOR, TEMPORARY, PART-TIME

Hours: Varied with availability for weekday, weeknight and/or weekend shifts

Hourly Rate: $19.80 – $21.68

Under the direction of the Aquatics Coordinator, the Swimming Instructor will provide swimming instruction to participants of the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high quality swim lessons to community members.
  • Maintain vigilance and safety supervision of all participants.
  • Work in a team to ensure safety and quality of programs prevail.
  • Attend scheduled training and development sessions.
  • Provide a positive customer service experience and ability to address customer concerns.
  • Report concerns, accidents, and incidents to immediate supervisor, or on-call supervisor, as needed.
  • Provide appropriate first aid treatment and documentation, as needed.
  • Complete administrative tasks, including report card writing and instructor worksheets, appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of age.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR 'C' Certification from a WSIB recognized organization.
  • Current Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Certification.
  • Availability for weekday, weeknight, or weekend aquatic programs.
  • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification is considered an asset.
  • Previous Lifeguard experience is considered an asset.
