Job Title: SWAP - Skilled Worker Access Program Instructors (PT - Posting for Interest)

Faculty Appointment Types: Part-time

Job Summary:

The College of New Caledonia’s Mackenzie campus requires instructors to teach our Skilled Worker Access Program, which includes a variety of courses related to Math, Computer Basics, Skills for Success, Trades, and Work Readiness Training. The need for skilled tradespeople in Northern B.C. is increasing, along with exciting, well-paid employment opportunities. This program will provide a variety of skills training options to help students get started in the skilled labour industry.

Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Trades Courses will require an Instructor to hold a Certificate of Qualification and/or Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate in the related trade.
  2. Five years’ experience working in industry.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both individual and group situations.
  4. Preference will be given to applicants with recent trade experience and proven teaching and/or supervisory experience.
  5. Provincial (BC) Instructor Diploma will be considered an asset.
  6. Previous experience working with First Nations students and communities will be considered an asset.

You will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners and communities.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
