Job Summary

The College of New Caledonia’s Mackenzie campus requires instructor (s) to teach our Skilled Worker Access Program (Variety of courses related to Math, Computer Basics, Skills for Success, Trades, and Work Readiness Training).
The need for skilled tradespeople in Northern B.C. is increasing, along with exciting, well-paid, employment opportunities.
This program will provide a variety of skills training options to help students get started in the skilled labour industry.

Skills & Qualifications

● Trades Courses will require an Instructor to hold a Certificate of Qualification and/or Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate in the related trade
● Five years’ experience working in industry
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills in both individual and group situations
● Preference will be given to applicants with recent trade experience and proven teaching and/or supervisory experience
● Provincial (BC) Instructor Diploma will be considered an asset
● Previous experience working with First Nations students and communities will be considered an asset
Hiring criteria shall include professional qualifications, professional experience, teaching experience, college contributions, community awareness and personal attributes so far as they are applicable to the job classification in question.
You will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety practices and will foster a safety-first culture with students and in the CNC community.
You will promote a positive work atmosphere and communicate in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.

Salary $73,879 - $87,659 Commensurates with qualifications and relevant experience
