Posting Summary Competition Number 20251464SS Position Title SW 346-400 SW Practice I - Fall 2025 - Blended Delivery Faculty/Department Faculty of Social Work Unit Social Work - Sessionals Employee Group URFA CUPE 5791 Job Family Category Sessional Number of Vacancies N/A Position Summary The Faculty of Social Work at the University of Regina invites applications for one Sessional Lecturer to teach the following blended delivery course (online asynchronous AND remote delivery synchronous) during the Fall 2025 semester:

SW 346 – Social Work Practice I
This course examines the principles, concepts and skills related to social work with individuals, families, and groups, providing a theoretical framework for generalist social work practice.

The semester class period is from September 2, 2025 to December 5, 2025 with the final exam period running from December 9 – 22, 2025.

Sessional Lecturers that are teaching classes are expected to teach 5 synchronous remote delivery via Zoom classes throughout the semester.

Expectations for Sessional Lecturers include, but aren’t limited to, the following:

  • Preparing the course outline, designing relevant assignments, evaluating and grading student work, and submitting student grades by the required deadline.
  • Teaching course content that follows the course description, established learning objectives, and university academic guidelines.
  • Delivering 5 lectures throughout the semester.
  • Encouraging and maintaining a safe and collaborative classroom environment.
  • Providing regular support to students on course work during office hours, and as required by students.
  • Consulting with the Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programs) on academic or student- related matters as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Social Work | University of Regina (uregina.ca) Position Requirements The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Master of Social Work ( MSW )
  • Demonstrated related experience appropriate to the course content description as listed above;
  • Superior communications skills (both written and verbal);
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Recent teaching experience in a post-secondary environment is considered an asset.
Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Term Work Hours This course is offered on Thursday’s 8:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.
Required synchronous dates: Sept 4, Oct 2, Oct 30, Nov 20, Dec 4.

The Sessional Lecturer is expected to teach remote via zoom (synchronous) for each of the 5 lectures, be in the Zoom 10-15 minutes before each class starts, as well as offer regular office hours for their students each week.
