Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a forward-thinking Sustainable Design Architect to join our Kimberley team. This role focuses on integrating environmentally responsible design principles into diverse architectural projects, researching and implementing sustainable strategies, materials, and technologies to minimize environmental impact.
The ideal candidate will hold a professional architecture degree with SACAP registration, 5+ years in sustainable design, and knowledge of Green Star SA or LEED.
Qualifications
- Professional degree in Architecture with SACAP registration.
- Minimum 5 years of sustainable design experience.
- Knowledge of Green Star SA or LEED rating systems.
- Proficiency in energy modeling and lifecycle assessment tools.
- Strong communication and analytical skills for team/client education.
Responsibilities
- Lead sustainable design integration from concept to completion.
- Conduct energy modeling, LCA, and environmental impact analyses.
- Research and specify sustainable materials, systems, and technologies.
- Assist projects in achieving sustainability ratings and certifications (e.g., Green Star).
- Develop design solutions for energy efficiency, water conservation, and indoor environmental quality.
- Stay updated on advancements in sustainable architecture and green building practices.
