Our Renewable department offers consulting engineering, data insights, advanced technology expertise, modeling, and software solutions. We aim to facilitate the deployment of renewable energy and support the energy transition, engaging in all project phases from concept to decommissioning.

We focus on addressing the energy transition challenge by providing specialized consulting and assurance for onshore and offshore wind, solar, storage, and heat reuse projects.

Our primary goal is to help identify and mitigate site risks to optimize performance. As consultants in a fast-paced energy market, we solve diverse challenges for our internal and external clients.

As a Graduate in Architecture or a related field, you will join a startup team of innovative thinkers dedicated to solving industry challenges. Roles and Responsibilities

This role offers the chance to work on some of the most innovative and sustainable building projects in the country. The Sustainability Building Architect will assist the project manager in managing green building projects from concept to construction, ensuring sustainability targets are met.

Your Daily Activities

  • Consult with clients on renovation or new construction projects
  • Generate building plans and detailed drawings for contractors
  • Coordinate technical activities in architecture or engineering projects
  • Negotiate contracts focusing on design, schedule, and costs
  • Participate in contract negotiations
  • Prepare structural and material documentation for construction
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables
  • Supervise drawing and specification preparation
  • Address town planning laws and environmental assessments
  • Design buildings, develop plans, and specify materials and costs
  • Create sketches and models
  • Perform Life Cycle Analysis to reduce embodied emissions
  • Use BIM and LCA software to assess carbon footprint, complying with standards like Zero Carbon Building, LEED, or Toronto Green Standard
  • Review emerging codes and policies, summarizing relevant updates
  • Assist with green building certifications for various projects
  • Participate in integrated design meetings for sustainability solutions
  • Review environmental performance in design and construction drawings
  • Assess and review green building documentation and disclosures
  • Attend site reviews and support certification processes
  • Research sustainability, energy, and carbon topics
  • Perform other duties as needed to meet company objectives

Position Qualifications

Minimum requirements include:

  • Degree in Architecture Technology, Architecture, or related field
  • Understanding of Carbon Footprint concepts
  • Proficiency with architectural software, including AutoCAD and CAD
  • Knowledge of heat pumps, turbines, biomass, solar PV, CHP, HVAC systems
  • Experience in energy, building services, utilities, or related sectors
  • Ability to perform carbon footprint and greenhouse gas calculations
